DAY 1 Beijing

Transfer via: flight - your arrangement

Activities for today: Airport to hotel transfer (Beijing)

Meet your local guide at Beijing Capital International Airport and then ttransfer to your hotel. Enjoy time at leisure to relax or to do some independent exploring.

DAY 2 Beijing

Activities for today: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace

After breakfast at your hotel, meet the guide and start today's city tour from the Tian'anmen Square which is the largest city square in the world, followed by the Forbidden City. It is the largest imperial palace in Cina for 24 emperors' reign during the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years. Lunch will be taken at a local Chinese restaurant. In the afternoon, transfer to visit the Temple of Heaven Park, which is a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design where the ancient emperors used to pray for the God's bless of the whole nation. Followed by a visit the Summer Palace, which is the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China with a history of over 800 years.

DAY 3 Beijing

Activities for today: Mutianyu Great Wall, Ming Tomb (Changling)

Make an excursionto the Great Wall of Mutianyu Section, which is one of the great wonders in the world and the symbol of China. You can take a short hiking on the wall. Lunch will be taken at a local Chinese restaurant. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the Cloisonné Factory and see the traditional cultural art of Beijing. After that, process to visit the Ming Tomb (Changling). Drive back to your hotel and free at leisure in the evening.

DAY 4 Beijing/Datong

Activities for today: Train station transfer

Today take high-speed train to Datong. Upon arrival, you will be picked up to your hotel.

DAY 5 Datong

Activities for today: Yungang Grottoes, Huayan Temple

Explore Yungang Grottoes, the three major cave clusters in China and a relic of the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534). Absorbing Indian Gandhara Buddhist art, Yungang sculptures developed traditional Chinese art melded with social features of the time. In the afternoon, visit the Huayan Temple. The temple is the largest and best preserved monastery of the Liao Dynasty in existence in China. It was built according to the Huayan Sutra Sect of the Huayan School and is unique in that it faces east instead of south.

DAY 6 Datong/Mt. Wutaishan

Activities for today: Hanging Temple

Travel to the Hanging Temple at Heng Mountain. It was said to be built by a monk named Liao Ran in the Northern Wei Dynasty. It has a history of more than 1,400 years. After many times of repairs, the Hanging Temple had a large scale, and became a rare high altitude building in China, known as a high building on cliff. After lunch, Continue the journey to Wutai Mountain (about 2 hrs drive). Stay overnight at Wutai County.

DAY 7 Mt. Wutaishan/Taiyuan

Activities for today: Wutai Mountain

Make half-day excursion to the Wutai Mountain. The attractions will include Xiantong Temple, Pusading (Bodhisattva Summit) Temple, the Big White Pagoda in Chongfu Temple (old name: Taiyuan Temple ) and Wan Fo Ge (Wuye Temple). Enjoy a Buddhist Vegetarian lunch. After the tour, drive about 4 hours to Taiyuan and check into hotel.

DAY 8 Taiyuan/Pingyao

Activities for today: Jinci Temple, Twin Pagoda Temple, Wang Family Courtyard House

After breakfast, drive to visit the Jinci Temple. It is world-famous because it is an ancient ancestral temple, something which is rare in China. The temple is a combination of historical cultural relics and beautiful landscapes. After that, visit the Twin Pagoda Temple. After lunch, drive about 2 hours to Pingyao Ancient City, on the way pay a visit to the Wang Family Courtyard House. It is not only an example of residential architecture, but also a museum of architectural art. Its sculptures of stone, wood and brick can be found everywhere in the courtyard. The crafts are refined and exquisite.

DAY 9 Pingyao/Xi'an

Activities for today: Shuanglin Temple, Pingyao Ancient City, train station transfer (Pingyao, Xi'an)

Today guide tour to explore Pingyao Ancient City including the Ri Sheng Chang Exchange Shop - the first money exchange shop in China as well as the founder of Chinese modern banks, Traditional Ming-Qing Street, Old City Wall. It is one of the best-preserved ancient towns in China. In 1986, the State Council proclaimed Pingyao as a historical and cultural site. Also, it was listed to the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Followed tour to the Shuanglin Temple which is reputed to be the 'ancient painted sculptures museum'. After sightseeing, you are escorted to the railway station for the high-speed train to Xi'an.

DAY 10 Xi'an

Activities for today: Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda Park

Arrival in Xi'an in the early morning, you will be met by the guide and drive to the hotel (check in if room available). After a short rest, drive to visit the Xi'an Daqin Terra-Cotta & Lacquer Furniture Art Factory. In the factory, you can see the process of how to make Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses. Continue drive to visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. It is one of the most important archaeological finds in the 20 th century; an army of terra-cotta warriors and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at emperor Qin's tomb since 2200 year ago. In the afternoon, drive to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Park. The pagoda is the city emblem, which was first built in Tang Dynasty for the storage of Buddhist scriptures taken from India by Monk Xuanzang.

DAY 11 Xi'an/Luoyang

Activities for today: Xian City Wall, Muslim Quarters, Train Station transfer (Xi'an, Luoyang)

In the morning, meet the guide and drive to visit the ancient City Wall, which is the best-kept and biggest city walls in China. Walk through the Bell & Drum Tower Square, and have a free time on the Muslim Quarters. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the railway station for the fast train to Luoyang. Arrival in Luoyang, you will be met and transfer to the hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

DAY 12 Luoyang

Activities for today: Longmen Grottoes, White Horse Temple

Explore the Longmen Grottoes, it is one of the four great grottoes in China. The construction started from 493 AD of the Northern Wei Dynasty when Emperor Xiaowendi moved the capital to Luoyang and lasted for more than 400 years. Now there are 2,345 caves with 2,680 statues, over 70 stupas and 2,680 inscribed stone tablets. In the afternoon, visit the White Horse Temple which is honored as the 'Founder's Home' and the 'Cradle of Buddhism in China'. Have a free walk on the old city street in Luoyang.

DAY 13 Luoyang/Zhengzhou/Shanghai

Activities for today: Shaolin Temple; Train Station transfer (Zhengzhou, Shanghai)

In the morning, meet the guide and drive about 1.5 hours to explore Shaolin Temple. It is reputed to be 'the Number One Temple under Heaven' and was included on UNESCO's World Cultural & Natural Heritage List in 2010. The temple is the cradle of the Chinese Zen Buddhism and the Shaolin Martial Arts such as Shaolin Cudgel. After lunch, drive to Zhengzhou Railway station for the express train to Shanghai (about 7.5 hours). Upon arrival in Shanghai, you will be met and transfer to the hotel for a good evening.

DAY 14 Shanghai

Activities for today: Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Yu Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, the Bund, Nanjing Road

After breakfast at the hotel, meet the guide and full day guide tour to visit Oriental Pearl TV Tower where has best viewing spot of Shanghai located by the Huangpu River with 468 meters high. Followed by a visit to the Yu Garden. The garden used to be a private garden with 400 years' history; it features traditional architectural style of Yangtze Delta. After that, have a free walk on the nearby Old Street and transfer to visit the Jade Buddha Temple. Free at leisure on the Bund and Nanjing Road.

DAY 15 Shanghai/Exit

Transfer via: flight - your arrangement

Activities for today: Hotel to airport transfer

Bid farewell to Shanghai as your vacation comes to an end. A complimentary transfer is provided to Pudong International Airport.
